That was everyone’s first comment when picking the Erzberg 70 pack up, but it wasn’t a critique, not at all. It was only ‘cause we took delivery of two of Ogio’s hydration pack, which included the Baja 70, we could see the difference in size.
Why would you want such a small pack?
That’s a silly question, as it only makes sense to have a small pack, if you can get away with it. But I guess it is better to say ‘smaller’, since the pack isn’t small, given it can fit two litres of whatever hydration you choose – in the included bladder and bite valve – and room for you phone and some food.
The best thing about the size is the fact at how invisible it feels to wear. Given its slim design, it can easily be worn under a jersey, your armour or jacket. The shoulder straps are reinforced mesh that fit well, and feel good to wear, since they allow airflow. There are also waist and chest straps, too, just in case you want to fit it a little more snug (which is best when carrying the full capacity of the bladder).
As it is an Ogio product, you can feel safe in knowing that the zippers will stay closed, nor will the bag come apart while in the middle of nowhere.
